Pedi Med Program

The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department works in partnership with the Loveland City School District and other schools in the area to insure the safety of our “special needs” children.

Information About Medical Conditions

The Pedi Med Program gathers information from parents about any medical conditions that may be encountered either at school or while at home. This information is collected and entered into a database kept in emergency vehicles, accessed only by Fire department personnel, and with Northeast Communications (9-1-1). Each child is assigned an individual number that corresponds with their medical history, and the information can be reviewed by responding emergency personnel.

Emergency Situation Advantage

This program gives the Firefighter/paramedic the advantage to view useful information such as the child’s name, address, medical information, family notification, medications, allergies to medication, and hospital preference. Additional services of the Pedi Med Program include free home safety inspections and training children on how to safely evacuate homes in the event of a fire.
