The department’s Operations Division is responsible for the day-to-day fire and EMS operations. The Operations Division is responsible for responding to and addressing the everyday emergency needs of the community. Line firefighters and paramedics provide these services, making the Operations Division the largest component of the fire department.
Leadership
Company officers (Captains) work at every fire station in conjunction with the Deputy Chief of Operations to ensure effective daily operations of the entire fire district.

Additional services provided by the Operations Division include:
- Annual fire hydrant maintenance
- Confined space rescue
- Dive rescue and recovery of evidence
- Hazardous materials response
- Heavy rescue
- Paramedic bike program
- A host of fire prevention and public education programs
Fire prevention is emphasized through safety programs in the schools regular fire drills, and in inspections of commercial properties, multi-family dwellings and places of public assembly.
