Your Fire Department |
| The
Loveland-Symmes Fire Department provides Fire and
Emergency Medical Services to 28,000 residents,
under contract to the City of Loveland and Symmes
Township. Located throughout the City and
Township are four firehouses that house personnel
and equipment that respond to emergencies when
needed. The department is composed of nearly 60
firefighters who are assigned to ambulances and fire
trucks. These firefighters work on one of
three (3) rotating shifts. With this cadre of
professionals we are able to provide not only
advanced life support (ALS) medic units, but also
rescue and firefighting services that are
unparalleled in the region. <Read

Health
Tip |
Controlling
your blood pressure is critical
According to JNC VII (the seventh report of the Joint
National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation,
and Treatment of High Blood Pressure):
- Normal
blood pressure is below 120/80 mm Hg
- A
blood pressure of 120/80 mm Hg to 139/89 mm Hg is
called "prehypertension." Those in the
130/80 mm Hg to 139/89 mm Hg range are at twice the
risk of developing high blood pressure
- A
blood pressure of 140/90 mm Hg or above is considered
high blood pressure
Even though you might not
feel high blood pressure, it is a major risk factor for
many kinds of health problems, including:
- Heart
attack
- Stroke
- Kidney
disease
- Heart
failure
