The
Loveland-Symmes Fire Department Hires Two Full Time Firefighters

On October 10, 2007 Chief of Department Otto J.
Huber and the Loveland-Symmes firefighters welcomed two part-time
employees to our full-time staff.
Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Dutlinger
In addition to his role with the LSFD, Brian
Dutlinger serves as the chief of the Georgetown (OH) Life Squad, as a
firefighter with the Georgetown (OH) Fire Department, and as a deputy
sheriff with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
Brian has also served as a 911 operator with the University of
Cincinnati Police. Brian is
a certified National Registry EMT-Paramedic, a State of Ohio Firefighter
II, open water diver, and PTLS instructor.
As Chief Huber stated, “We welcome Brian to our team and look
forward to adding his experience and education to our mission.”
Firefighter/EMT Robert (Bo) Smith
Bo recently graduated from Eastern Kentucky
University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Fire Protection
Engineering Technology. Bo
is currently enrolled in the paramedic program at the University of
Cincinnati where he will obtain his EMT-P certification and Associate’s
degree in Emergency Medical Services Technology in June 2008.
Bo served as an intern with the LSFD during the summer of 2006
while updating our Emergency Operations Manual.
He has several years experience with the Pleasant Valley Joint
Fire District located in Madison County, Ohio and is certified as a
Firefighter II, EMT-Basic, and HazMat Tech.
“We are excited to have Bo join our team and look forward to the
energy that Bo brings to the LSFD,” said Chief Huber.
